Chabad Branded Website (chabadwebsite.com) is a platform on which Chabad centers run their own websites and keep their own records. This page explains what the platform itself collects and how it is used. Each center is responsible for the information it gathers from its own community through its site.
What a center's site collects
When you RSVP, register, order, donate or write to a center through its site, the details you enter — your name, email, phone, address, guests and answers — are stored for that center and shown only to that center's admins. Payments are processed by Stripe; the platform never sees your card number.
Admin sign-in
Admins sign in with a one-time emailed link, or with Google. When you use Google we receive only your email address and name, used to match you to a center's team. We do not read your Google data, calendar or contacts.
Cookies
A session cookie keeps an admin signed in. Public pages set no tracking cookies.
Who processes data on our behalf
Cloudflare (hosting, storage), Stripe (payments), Resend and Amazon Web Services (email), Twilio (WhatsApp), and Anthropic (AI). Each handles data under its own terms; Stripe, for example, also uses payment details to prevent fraud. Anthropic does not train AI models on what the platform sends it.
Where AI is used
An admin's assistant reads that center's own records when the admin asks it a question, and writes drafts the admin chooses to keep. A message sent through a center's contact form is checked for spam: messages from people the center already knows are never checked, and a newcomer's message is read by AI only when it looks like a sales pitch (a link, an offer, a price). The weekly summary an admin may receive is written with AI from that center's own figures. Nothing is ever sent or published by AI on its own.
A center may also connect an AI app of its own, such as ChatGPT or Claude, to its records. That app handles what it reads under the center's own account with it, not under the platform's terms. Such an app can also stage records it has read elsewhere, such as the center’s own mailbox, into the center’s import area; those rows wait for an admin to review and apply them, and the mailbox itself never passes through the platform.
The sandbox
The sandbox at chabadwebsite.com/try is a copy of a demo center with made-up people, opened without an account, and it is deleted a few hours after you leave. To learn what people try, we keep a short record of each one for ninety days: which admin pages were opened, what kinds of things were made, and the wording of questions asked of the assistant about the demo's records. When the assistant is asked to add, log or change something, only the kind of request is kept, not its wording, and nothing containing an email address, a phone number or a link is kept. The record carries no name, email, address or location.
How long things are kept
A center's records are kept while the center uses the platform. Conversations with the assistant are kept until the admin deletes them, or for the period the center chooses in Settings › Assistant. Deleted items stay in the center's trash for thirty days, then are gone.
Each center's own site
A center may publish a privacy page of its own on its site, in its own name, saying what it collects and how it uses it.
Your choices
Every email a center sends carries an unsubscribe link. To see, correct or delete what a center holds about you, contact that center; to reach the platform, write to sruly@chabadbrand.com.
